ABOUT THE TEAM
Digital art tinkerer since 1987. @uuav enjoys the realms of digital creation and think it should be encouraged as it stabilized his mental health more than once. “When you've nothing else construct ceremonies out of the air and breathe upon them.” McCarthy Cormac.
@uuav constructed many ceremonies out of electrons flows, he's sure it counts.
ABOUT THE SONG
From 1983 to 2021, two computers and one human raving together. Sounds from OpenAI Jukebox feeded with MSX computer FM chip digested by @uuav.
ABOUT THE HUMAN-AI CO-CREATION PROCESS
This track is coming from a personal project using only an old MSX computer (YM2413 chip) from 1983 and OpenAI jukebox as sound sources for making music. Connecting two computers from different eras trying to build up something from there. Making ‘chip’ music with MSX-BASIC impose some rigidity, and limited timbre palette. Oh the other end, OpenAI Jukebox oniric suggestions always surprise with organic textures and expressive musicality... until it loose tracks.
I'm hoping working with both can bring up something new to explore.
technical workflow:
Coding music using built-in MSX-BASIC langage
sending the sample for priming using OpenAI Jukebox with specific settings, then Jukebox suggestions curation.
mixing both in renoise, then going back to point (1) or (2)
I treat OpenAI jukebox as a musician. We learnt to work together for the last 6 months. I suggest things to it, it suggests me things back, he’s my mate.
I try my best to respect both computer qualities, from the noisy chip to the organic genreless unusual structured audio dreams.
