Participants 2024
About the TEAM
The father and son Adriano and Pietro are the people behind GENEALOGY. Pietro (12) is the main producer of the team. He was responsible for music production and handling of AI tools. Adriano (40) is the mentor of the team. He helped giving tips and evaluating the track. We love making music, but we knew absolutely NOTHING about AI music. So, to participate, extensive research was required to learn a little about music with AI. We are not professionals (as the song lyrics say), but we are just venturing into the world of AI music. We hope you like us! ❤️
About the SONG
Before we made LALALA, we tried another song but the song was disqualified because of a tool that we used. Then we were very sad, and we had no hope. But then we tried again and we made LALALA. The song talks about being incredible and don't caring about what people say. The main idea was: when kids are forced to hear something they don't want to, they cover their ears and say: "Lalalalalalalala I can't hear you". So, we used this concept in music. We are always inspired by great international and national DJs, such as Alok, Tiesto, Meduza, and Vintage Culture, and we decided to apply our experience in listening to music, watching shows (even if it's at home) to make the next AI-made electronic hit.
About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
At the beginning of production, it was necessary to select the tools needed for the song, and explore all the functions to use whatever was needed. The chosen music genre was EDM. Using some samples, we made a base to add other sounds to complement. To generate sound effects for music, we used the Text-To-Audio AudioLDM model. It created some atmospheric noises that we sampled and added to the beat. With Samplab's Text-To-Sample, an EDM beat was generated. We decided to use a small part of the beat, the part was mixed and turned into percussion. AIVA AI was used to make a synthbass and the drum'n'bass beat. We used a different model for a new sound effect. Eleven Labs's Text-To-Audio was used for many sound effects used. Magenta Studio was used for the solos of the instruments. The Continue tool extended the bagpipe solo and the synth solo. Adobe Podcast's Audio Enhancer improved the vocals. For the second part of the song, we sampled a traditional Brazilian instrument, called cuíca, and a classic Brazilian funk beat, used in funk songs. The vocals were recorded by PIETTRO. The whole song was made with BandLab. To help with production, we use the GPT-3 Song Maker, programmed to use music theory to answer questions asked by the user. The program recommended some presets to improve the project and made the lyrics, which we cherry-picked and modified them. All decisions were reviewed by the program. We trained the GPT with Billboard Dance/Electronic Songs data to the program, so that it can study the 1° spots since 2017, so that the program can evaluate the finished song based on the data. Ta-da!
Lyrics
We the beat-makers, sound-shakers
Can't imagine a time we quit
We're not pros, but we ain't gonna stop
Every single hit
We the dream-chasers, risk-takers
Beep-beep, we're winning the race
We're not stars, but know how to shine
Every single place
So you think that we will not make it
Keep talking, but nobody's listening
Baby just keep talking your trash
Cause I'll be giving you hell damn attention like
So you think that we will not make it
Keep talking, but nobody's listening
Baby just keep talking your trash
Cause I'll be giving you hell damn attention like
