About the SONG
The song aimed to challenge the traditional way music is created, and speaks about the importance of overcoming barriers in order to experience growth, whether it be about AI music, or in our personal lives. Together with our attempt of incorporating cultural instruments, we hope that this song will directly speak to our listeners' hearts, and maybe even create a eargasm
About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
When we were ideating on what to express in the song, we wanted to make the sing writing process simple and focused on what truly matters. Hence we brainstormed on ideas regarding the themes of the song, while piecing together and mixing the melodies generated earlier on.
In our creative journey, our vision encompassed three interconnected themes:
1. celebrating the diversity of cultural instruments,
2. showcasing growth's powerful,
3. transformative nature by drawing from history and forging a future, and finding harmony between AI innovation and the preservation of traditional music (reference: IMG_ideation).
With these 3 themes, it was much easier to align the team in a common vision, by following simple agreed upon parameters such as our BPM would be 60, time signature is 4/4 and genre of composition is jazz which allows for creative innovation.
We then tried many ai platforms and codes to allow us to combine both human mixing, voice over and also those generated by ai.
Collaboratively, we explored AI tools' capabilities and limitations, using them to weave a tapestry of global music traditions, infuse historical echoes into our composition, and strike a balance that celebrated both AI-driven creativity and the authenticity of traditional instruments. Our final composition embodied these themes, pushing the boundaries of creative expression while respecting the cultural roots that inspired us. This journey affirmed that, with thoughtful integration, AI can amplify artistic innovation and cultural preservation.
