About the TEAM
We are a team of 3 students who enjoy video games and recently leapt into the world of Ai songs for the purpose of using them in games and also just for the pure enjoyment of creating them. Each of us is a Systems engineering student that would like to know more about the world of music and its many facets. Winning the contest is an obvious motivator but we also enjoy the whole process of learning about the many different ways to create music using ai and how it can help us in our professional careers as well as our hobbies.
About the SONG
The song is an electronic dance music (EDM) composition with a blend of different sections, each drawing inspiration from various EDM artists, notably Porter Robinson. It starts with an energetic and uplifting introduction featuring a catchy lead melody and a driving bassline, building anticipation with a slower drum pattern before launching into the main section.
The Porter Robinson-inspired part adds a softer and more emotive touch, showcasing the versatility of the composition. It features intricate melodies and harmonies that evoke a sense of nostalgia and euphoria, capturing the essence of Porter Robinson's signature style.
Towards the end, the song transitions back to a catchy and upbeat section with a different lead melody, introducing a sense of familiarity and continuity while keeping the energy high. About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
First, ChatGPT played a pivotal role by providing guidance, suggesting ideas, and making real-time modifications to the code, ensuring that the composition aligned with the user's vision. The user communicated their musical preferences, such as the desire for inspiration from EDM artist Porter Robinson, and ChatGPT translated these preferences into actionable musical elements.
JythonMusic, a Python-based library for music composition, was used to implement the musical composition itself. It allowed the user to define rhythms, melodies, and instrument choices. JythonMusic provided a framework for translating musical ideas into code, enabling the creation of distinct sections within the song.
BandLab, an online music production platform, came into play for auditory validation. The user listened to the song as it progressed, fine-tuned various elements, and decided on the overall structure of the composition. This iterative process allowed for adjustments and refinements, ensuring that the song met the user's expectations.
The collaborative process between human creativity, AI assistance, and music composition tools resulted in a multi-layered EDM composition that transitioned between different styles and emotions. It showcased the synergy between human input, AI capabilities, and accessible music composition tools, demonstrating the potential for creative collaboration in music production.
