About the TEAM
We are three Computer Science students from Guatemala. We're looking to graduate with a degree specialized in Video Games, and are currently coursing Computational Music. It's our first experience with music composition, and we're looking into how we can compose music designed for Video Games and how music creates certain feelings during gameplay.
About the SONG
This song is our team's first introduction to music composing. We chose Hip Hop as a genre for our music composing course, and we were looking into making a song in this genre. It's a very experimental song, with multiple different insipirations, were we looked for a bit of a funky sound to have more fun.
About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
The Human-AI Co-Creation Process was really useful for us, as it helped us come up with original sounds for our song, with some very clear inspirations. We had three main steps for our creation process. First, we found a song and wanted to have a very similar structure to it, with an introduction, verse, chorus and verse.
Next, we looked for loops or samples in the genre variation we were looking for, which is a more funky sounding hip hop. We later used AI to help us come up with original sounds and loops inspired by the artists and songs we liked to later implement in our song.
Once implemented, we iterated over it, using this same chords AI helped us get, and changing pitch, instrument, bpm and other variables.
Finally, we restructured, and worked on the transitions for our different song parts to make it feel smooth and with the desired sound.
