About the SONG
LullabyBye is a generative model that composes lullabies, plays them back while interacting with real-time feedback and in due time personalizes and learns a child’s own personal lullaby. This song is my daughter’s lullaby, which the model learned from around 100 attempts of lulling her to sleep.
About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
LullabyBye is a modern take on the music box. It’s basically just like those corny little things you can buy at touristy shops playing ‘Fly me to the moon’ or ‘La vie en rose’ for a couple of euros, only different. Completely different. For starters it runs on python. In a nutshell you can use it to lull a child to sleep. You set it up in the same room and click a button which composes a lullaby on the spot. It then plays this lullaby while interacting with the child’s babbling or crying making it play slower and calmer variations of the lullaby. When the lullaby is done playing it remembers how well it worked based on how long it took to lull the child to sleep or at least be quiet, which can obviously take dreadfully long. I’ve used it about 100 times when putting my daughter to bed and in the end this is what it came up with as her own personal lullaby: Ada’s lullaby.
